Economics

“By continuing a process of inflation, government can confiscate, secretly and unobserved, an important part of the wealth of their citizens,” Lord John Keynes summarizing Lenin’s best method to destroy Capitalism

I will fight for sound money in Tennessee because some of the greatest threats to our freedom and liberty today are economic. We have a fiat currency that is printed like Monopoly Money; a Federal Reserve that is not a Federal entity, has no reserves, and has no oversight; and a tax system that punishes citizens the harder they work, plus implements taxation without representation, which is Unconstitutional. Each of these economic burdens threatens our freedom. Fortunately, economics is something I understand extremely well. Today from this we have government attempts at intervention from government bailouts, government healthcare, government controlled energy, government control of trade, and more. I believe that supply and demand are the best controls of the economic system and government intervention should be minimized in the economic system. The only exception to this is government’s responsibility to ensure a stable, value backed currency. When it comes to economics, government has gotten involved everywhere they shouldn’t and has done nothing everywhere they are obligated to protect us. Years after signing the Federal Reserve Act, President Woodrow Wilson stated, “I am a most unhappy man. I have unwittingly ruined my country. A great industrial nation is controlled by its system of credit. Our system of credit is concentrated. The growth of the nation, therefore, and all our activities are in the hands of a few men. We have come to be one of the worst ruled, one of the most completely controlled and dominated Governments in the civilized world no longer a Government by free opinion, no longer a Government by conviction and the vote of the majority, but a Government by the opinion and duress of a small group of dominant men.” I will do everything I can to help correct this.
